Doctor Who Poetry

I was recently invited by the Editor of Doctor Who Online to submit some poetry for Celestial Toyroom, the Doctor Who Appreciation Society (DWAS).  Its the longest standing Doctor Who fan-led website, having run in various formats for over forty years.  Naturally, I was thrilled to be able to reach out to a new audience.

I've submitted five pieces of poetry and I'm delighted to report that the first one "Heaven Sent" will appear in April's issue.  Its fully illustrated by the very talented Simon Brett and I'm very excited about this new avenue, being a lifelong Doctor Who fan.

Watch this space for more information and links, once they're widely available.

"Don't Blink"

Keep your eyes on the prize
And don't look away
For the second you do
You'll turn yourself into prey
A silent, still statue
With your mantra "don't blink"
As they edge ever closer
It's all you can think
They're strong and they're silent
No words will you hear
Only baring of teeth
Which consume you with fear
If you blink and you miss them
Into stone you will turn
There's no room for escape
From Weeping Angels, you'll learn
You'll become one of them
For the rest of your days
And prey upon others
For an Angel obeys
